fireworks for my birthday
April 21, 2007 – 3:50 pmtoday is my birthday… and i’m turning 24
i’m getting a wee bit sentimental here, but only for just a bit. there are times (TODAY especially) that i think about my life and my future. uhhmm… i guess at this age, i can’t help but sometimes think about having a certain kind of security, and maybe even settling down.

uhhmm, but that would be in the very far, far future (but not too far away, i hope). i think that i still don’t have the right set of mind to venture into these kind of things.
so, this birthday is actually one of the my happiest in recent years. when i woke up this morning, i expected to be spending the whole day sitting in my not-so-comfy monobloc chair and staring at the pc. but somehow lady fortuna has decided to give me a birthday present: a fireworks display!
uhmmm… not really… 
lemme explain this a wee bit. so in the office, some of us (including me!) have office hours from 8am-5pm while most of the people go in at 9am to 6pm. my daily ritual is that before i start working, i read some blogs, and update myself with current news. and at about 9am i’d start on my tasks. i was just starting doing some tests when all of a sudden, from my right side i saw sparks fly. it happened really fast, but i do remember sparks flying all over our electrical junction box. good thing though that our utility man was alerts and he jumped out and switched off the electricity…
we were in a a disarray and i was was a little bit freaked out. sha, hannah and i went out of the room and we waited. i was kind of happy because i realized that this might mean we don’t have to work! or at least we’d be a little delayed… at about 10:30, we went back inside. we’re informed that some of us will have to work outside (go to an internet shop and work there). for me though, due to security reasons (i have to access our firewall to do some testing) i have to stay at the office, which suited me well because i wasn;t really in the mood top go anywhere in the smoldering summer heat.
the “electrician” said we could turn on onyl 17 pc’s but there about more than 20 of us left, and i wasn;t really sure if we all turned on our pc’c, but just after a few minutes, there (again) little sparks coming out of the junction box.
so, we were just given the option to either go home and do our work there (for those who have internet connection in their homes), go to an internet shop and do our work there, or go back tomorrow afternoon. of course, the three of us decided to go “home”.
we in fact went to sm city to eat a long, leisurely lunch at yellow cab (my treat!). i actually missed their pizza, so we ordered their ny finest and then a ham and cheese calzone. i was really full after two slices of pizza and a slice of calzone. and we had a couple pieces of calzone left over, which i took home.
hannah went back to her apartment and do her work there, as planned to go to roxas later in the afternoon and then sha and i decided to go watch a movie (teenage mutant ninja turtles!). it was only 1:30 pm and the movie didn’t start at 2:40 pm, so sha and i shopped around. i didn’y buy anything though as i was in my “frugal” mood.
the movie was not really great, but it wasn’t bad either; so i guess it was just okay. i imagined little children will really enjoy the movie, but for us, it was kind of a cliffhanger?! or should i say, i wanted more in the storyline point of view. i think i had a few micro-sleeps here and there because i was kind of sleepy udring the movie.
anyways, it was just fun and it reminded me my younger years when we would religiously wait every friday to see teenage ninja turtle cartoons in tv. sha and i then went home after the movie, as i was kind of tired and sleepy na.
uhhhmmm… i have to go now, this is just halfway through my b-day but i’m just too tired right now
