Once again, Lady Fortuna has played another game on me.
I was actually minding my own business. And for the past 6 months or so, has lived an hermitic-vampiric lifestyle –> barely ekking out a social life, working my ass off at night, sleeping my butt off in the morning lifestyle –> but a few minutes ago comes another wake-up jerk. Lady Fortuna is once again mocking me.
Ugh. Am I being a bad person? Is it not good to feel jealous (and quite resentful) when all your friends in far, far away lands are out there enjoying themselves, drinking beer and vodka, while my butt is stuck here in a 350-peso monobloc chair? The chair is quite comfortable but that doesn’t stop me from wishing that I was there and not here.
I feel horrible. And I have to admit that I’m green with envy. I’d imagine that working away from home wouldn’t really be bad if you have all your friends with you. You can just pretend that you’re in an extended vacation and at most times, you’d really feel independent.
I just miss my adventurous self. The one not afraid to take chances, swim into scalding hot cauldron (yikes!), jump out of 10-storey buildings or eat a thousand chili peppers. It’s really been awhile since I had a laughhed out loud, I mean really laugh with abandonment, not caring that food from my mouth is showering out in a thousand places. I miss that.
