See Your Site in a Graph
July 8, 2007 – 10:30 pmIf anybody would ask me what my site is all about, I would not answer with words, but rather, I would show them this:

Isn’t this neat? I got this from Enrii which Spud has referred to in his The Blog of a Passionate Programmer review. Here’s how you should interpret the graph:
blue: for links (the A tag)
red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
green: for the DIV tag
violet: for images (the IMG tag)
yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
black: the HTML tag, the root node
gray: all other tags
I dunno about you, but don’t you think that my blog graph looks a bit (a BIG bit) complicated? Like there’s this section where all the dots have crumpled up, and then there’s some sections which are quite bare. Notice the branch where there’s only gray dots?
I was curious what other sites may look like so I tried out google.com’s site and here’s their graph:

Isn’t this one very simple? Well, if you’re curious about what you blog may look like, you can try this one out too!

Mine looked just as complicated, but that’s why ours are more interesting! Google’s graph is like a child’s toy. Pretty, but boring.
