today was a little bit chaotic, although not very busy. for the first time, i got to exercise my right (and duty) to vote.
doesn’t the indelible ink look very pretty in my finger?
it was actually really exciting (tehee!) to vote for the first. i actually felt a bit important. you might say that i only got one vote, but isn’t it a great equalizer?
all kinds of people, whether rich or poor, pretty or ugly (weeh), sexy or fat only got one vote each. your status or money doesn’t matter coz we all get one vote.
of course, when it comes to elections in the philippines, one cannot avoid a lot of irregulaties. my cousin who works in a bank said that they run out of bills (fifties and hundreds) coz a lot of politicians were withdrawing their money. she wouldn’t say who though.
anyways, i for one have witnessed the blatant vote buying. it’s just actually kind of “tradition” and common in the philippines. in fact, a lot of people would really wonder if they don’t receive anything during the elections.
