thank your mom today

May 13, 2007 – 11:56 pm

today is mother’s day

and i was just relaxing at home and went on to my sunday routine. i’ve done some light chores, just tidying the house and then spending some play time with the dogs (cute and cuddly!) and watched the incredibles for nth time (tehee! it was on disney channel) . i’ve already done my slaving yesterday; cooking the dogs’ food, washing my clothes, cleaning my room and the house, so i took a break today.

after i watched some rerun of nadal’s semifinal game vs. davydenko (nadal won!) i got a little bit sleepy, so i went to my room, reread lord of the rings (fellowship of the ring)  for the nth time! and slept for half an hour.

we then went to church. after that, i decided, since it’s mother’s day to treat them to dinner. anyways, it’s also my younger brother arian’s last day here in iloilo since tomorrow, he’ll be off to cebu city and spend about 4 months there. he’ll be reviewing for the EE (electrical engineering) board exams in september (i think).

we went to esca’s, a new place sha had told me about. it’s a garden restaurant and they’ve just opened last may 8. anyways, i really love the place. it was so cozy and have a very beautiful ambiance. really felt comfy and relaxed coz the place was so spacious (unlike most restos here where it’s so cramp). we actually ate outside, under the starry skies (tehhee!) with our feet on soft grass.

another point goes to service, since the people were just so polite and helpful. one server even went with my brother to show him where the cr (with a garden!) was (waah) and the  owner was the one who got us the bill.

what about the food? i actually did like the food. we ordered kare-kare, shanghai rolls and sizzling gambas. they were all quite tasty. the kare-kare’s sauce was just seasoned right and the peanut was not too overpowering, the sizzling gambas was quite spicy, and i figured it would be right as a drinking companion (sumsuman?) and the shanghai rolls (lumpia) was really crispy and tasty and had a spicy sauce.

as a bonus, the price was not that expensive. i just paid a little over 600 pesos, which is in the mid-range. but considering the place and the service, it was very well worth it.

only bummer, i forgot to bring my phone, so i did not get to take pictures! boohou… :(

maybe next time (i’m sure we’ll go back there) i could take pictures. :) sha and i have plans to go there by this week, but nothing’s final yet.

anyways, i’m still waiting for nadal’s final match against fernando(?) but it’s already 12 midnight. i have to get up early tomorrow coz we have to vote.

oh well, i’ll just finish researching who’ll i vote for tomorrow and i’m off to bed.
