updated updates…
April 27, 2007 – 3:16 pmthis is a little bit delayed but i wanted to make on my promise that i’d post about our little trip to negros. not much pictures here, considering that i basically stayed for only about 4hrs there.
we (nanay, tatay and me) left iloilo a litle past 8 since the fast craft was a little late (it was about 8:10 am). the boat ride was really comfy and i mostly spent it with my eyes closed because i was still sleepy. i haven’t sleep too well last night because we haven’t have electricity from 12 midnight up to 7am. it was really hot and humid (summer’s here!) and i kept on tossing on the bed. really bad as i wanted to fall asleep and i my brain just refused to shut out. it was soo hot!
so anyways, we arrived at the port at about 9:30 and we then rode a jeepney to a bus stop where buses for victorias wait for passengers. when i was a child i kind of didn’t have an idea that it was almost a two-hour travel from the pier to my grandma’s house. but now, i’m too aware and i’m actually kind of tired just sitting for more than three hours. good thing i only have my handbag to worry about carrying.
i didn’t really do anything too important there, just hung out with my very many cousins, ate lunch and then sit some more. if i had a choice, i would have liked to stay for a little longer. i would like to have a stroll along the shoreline (my grandma’s house is near the ocean), go to the hacienda and run around, but nanay wanted to go home, so at 3pm we said our goodbyes, and we (nanay and i) were dropped off to the bus stop by my cousin, tatay and my brother.
the bus ride was actually pleasant and comfortable. i got to take a few pictures here. i always liked looking out of the widow and see fields of sugarcane. it’s just so conforting and relaxing.
we then transferred to a taxi to go to the pier. we had planned to be on the 5pm schedule but Lady Fortuna must be in the right mood today; we actually got to the 4pm schedule. the only catch is that the boat was actually quite really full and we were assigned to sit in the bridge. yes, the bridge - where the ship captain and the crew stay. nanay and i seated in the back, with our backs to the wall, while some passengers even sat on the captain’s chair. the crew then just sat above the instruments, and played some cards.
the water became quite ruthless later, and our little ship was rocking back and forth. i was actually feeling sick, and i had to stop myself from vomitting. i was just closing was eyes and concentrated on listening to music from my phone.
6pm: we arrived in iloilo. i really wanted to just curl up and rest, so as soon as we arrived home, i watched tv and didn’t move for 4 hrs. i was just there, lying on the couch, staring at the tv (nadal won monte carlo! he’s just so “cute”!?), barely even moving. uhhhm… i was also eating chocolates. went to bed at about 12 midnight.
so there… bye for now ![]()
